Block Island Race was first held in 1946 and is a qualifier for the Northern
Ocean Racing Trophy (IRC) and Gulf Stream Series (IRC), and a must for
those competing in the New England Lighthouse Series (PHRF) and for the
3rd Annual 'Tuna' Trophy (Best Combined IRC Edlu and Block Island Races).
